Storyline:
Hugo is an orphan boy living in the walls of a Paris train station in 1930. He learned to fix watches and other gadgets from his father and uncle put to use keeping the clocks for railway works. The only thing that let the league when his father was dead automaton (mechanical man) that will not work without a special key that Hugo has to find to unlock the secret that he believes contains. In his adventures, who owns the store, George Melies, who works at the station and adventure in search godson. Hugo believes that they have a surprising relationship with his father and automaton and discovers that triggers some memories of the old man buried in his past.
